Simplot Company and a host of smaller tech concerns.  Boise serves as the primary governemnt, economic, cultural and transporation center for the area.  Star s a growing bedroom community west of Boise,  Nampa is located about 20 miles west of Boise along Interstate 84 nd 6 miles west of Meridian.  It is the largest and fastedt growing city in Canyon County, Idaho and the second largest city in the Boise metropolitan area.  The estimated 2007 population is approximately 80,000.
